  • Craigslist

I've been searching a lot on Craigslist for stuff for our new house.  We've actually bought a coffee maker, blender, and a nice desk.  I love descriptions on there.  People say retro when they mean "out-dated," and antique when they mean "this thing is older than sin and you'd never want anyone to see it in your house."  And you can assume that any product that has been "reduced!!" is probably not good enough for any sane person to spend cash on.  Craigslist is pretty neat though.  Addictive, actually.

Our honeymoon is a surprise for me.  Alan is planning everything.  I really don't want to know what it entails and where it is, but I DO love pestering Alan about it.  I started saying things like, "Oh, I can't wait to go to Mexico..." when I really had no idea where it is going to be.  This past weekend we were eating some grilled burgers and Alan says, "I wonder if we'll eat burgers in Mexico."   My jaw dropped.  At this point, he could've totally played it off like he was joking around, trying to throw me off.  But instead I called him on it and he confessed it was indeed Mexico.  Haha, but he did last a while before anything slipped.  Note to Self: don't tell Alan any of my CIA secrets.

  • New home

Well, it's kind of been a whirlwind, but Alan (my Fiance) and I have just contracted to buy a new house in Johnson City.  It's awesome.  It's in the latter stages of construction.   They're soon throwing on our 18' x 12' deck (shoot yea!) and several other things (hardwood flooring, cabinets) but hopefully Alan will be in it by the end of June.  Oh, he recently got a job at Eastman in Kingsport... which is AWESOME.  Funny how fast things can happen and how crazy life can get.  A year ago I was still in nursing school, and I wasn't even talking to Alan.  And now, I have a fabulous job as an RN, we're buying a house, and shoot, getting married in September!!

Working nightshift has been pretty all right, although there are times (like now) at night when there's just not a lot to do.  I mean, my room is still messy, I need to address the wedding invites, my clothes still need to be folded and put away, but other than that, nothing to do!

I'm so excited about our new house.  The backyard is straight-up woods, which is awesome.  It'll be so ODD to have my own place, not just an apt.  But then again, it'll be weird not to be living with Heather Suess and be married to a stinky boy.  Heather and I have lived together forever.  Alan really isn't stinky.

On another note, does anyone know who the Collie-Man is?

Where the heck did April go?

This year is absolutely flying by.  I can't believe it's almost May, and I can't believe I'm getting married in 4 months.  H O L Y  C R A P.  Everyone asks, probably just to be polite, about how the wedding plans are going.  Well, the sumo wrestlers are booked, and I'm waiting on confirmation from the paintball rentals.  It should be a great time!

Have I told you lately how much I love not taking classes?  My friends who are still in college are taking finals this week.  Man, I remember the sleepness nights.  I don't wish to go back to that anytime soon... maybe eventually though.  While I don't have homework, I do have lots to do for the wedding (finding good sumo wrestlers isn't as easy as it seems).  I've been working on invitations the last two nights.  They're done now, thank goodness, but it really can be quite time-consuming.

And I'd like to take this moment to tell you guys two things:
    1. I have the best boyfriend/fiance' in the world.  He's amazingly perfect for me, and I can't believe I'm going to marry this guy I used to work with in high school at Ruby Tuesday.  He's great though.

and 2. I cannot get Natasha Bedingfield's song out of my head.  "I gotta pocket, got a pocket full of sunshine!"  And I apologize for anyone who is around me because I'm most likely singing it aloud and infesting your minds too.

Does anyone still get on Xanga?

  • Update on life.

Well, a lot's happen since you last heard from me.  Is anybody still out there??  Probably not. Sometimes it feels good to update my xanga just because.

Since I last blogged, I have graduated college, passed the NCLEX (so now I am officially an RN), got a Wii, and the biggest of all-- I got engaged!  We thought it would be best since I'm pregnant.  KIDDING!!  Oh, and I have washed my underwear a few times in the past couple months too.  I had you going with the pregnant thing, didn't I??

Lots of changes.  I've got a job now working in the neonatal ICU (with premature babes).  It's a great job.  And for all you people who told me, "Don't wish away your college years!"  Screw you!  I LOVE coming home and doing whatever the crap I want (i.e., planning my wedding and playing Wii, ha ha)!  Not to mention, it's nice to have a steady, GOOD paycheck.

So I'm getting married in September... barefoot on the beaches of SC.   It's what I've always wanted to do.  It's going to be a really good time.  We're grilling out for our reception!  Yay!  That's about all I have for now.  Here's a little photo of my fiance and mySelf (so weird to actually have a "fiance").

    Oh yeah, Happy Leap Day!

About Me

  • Are ya ready kids? (Aye, aye, Captain!) Chocolate makes me smile and turns my teeth a lovely shade of brown. I wish it could snow when it's warm outside. I am skilled in demolition! I want to have kids someday... and when they grow up I'll sell them. (GOATS, y'all!) My tragus is pierced. I'm addicted to chapstick. I know all the words to Spongebob theme song. I donate blood because I want to help others. I tried to donate plasma (that was to help ME), but my veins are too little--those darn veins. I like that oldies song, "Dizzy," that's why it's part of my xanga name. Someone said that travel is fatal to ignorance, and I believe it. I want to see the world. Did you just grab my butt?
